Public Health Insurance Coverage – Which Treatments Are Covered by Statutory Health Insurance?

Many treatments at Zahninsel are also covered by statutory health insurance, so you don’t have to pay extra when your child needs treatment or comes in for a check-up.

The following treatments are covered by health insurance:

  • Removal of cavities

  • Fillings

  • Silver crowns

  • Anesthesia and sedation

  • Individual prophylaxis (excluding professional teeth cleaning)

In addition, we can offer other treatments and professional teeth cleaning as private services. We are happy to provide personal advice and answer any questions you may have.

Private Services Available for Patients with Public Insurance

Treatment for your child’s baby teeth or permanent teeth is very important for dental health—but what if the health insurance doesn’t cover the costs? No problem! At Zahninsel, you benefit from all services covered by statutory health insurance, and, if needed, also from private services, such as:

  • Professional teeth cleaning

  • Sealants for baby teeth and small permanent molars (premolars)

  • Composite fillings on molars

  • White pediatric crowns

  • Fixed space maintainers

  • Nitrous oxide (laughing gas) treatment

Of course, we provide thorough consultation for parents before any treatment and give written information about the costs of any private services.

Comprehensive dental care and regular visits to the pediatric dentist are important at every age: as a toddler, a preschooler, a schoolchild, or a teenager. But what makes for reliable preventive care? What should parents watch for at which stage? How can you recognize chalky teeth? When should your child first see an orthodontist, and is teeth correction still possible in adulthood?

Here, you’ll find useful information and plenty of tips for your family.
