Teeth straightening with clear aligners: Invisalign
A highly aesthetic solution offered at our orthodontic practice in Munich is the Invisalign method: treatment using thin, transparent aligners. The clear aligners are custom-made for the patient’s jaw by the American company Invisalign. To do this, your orthodontist scans your upper and lower jaws, records your bite and sends the data to Invisalign. Using a virtual 3D treatment plan, the orthodontist can plan the movements and positions of the teeth in advance and visualise them.
At the start of treatment, your orthodontist will provide you with a set of aligners, each designed for a specific stage of treatment. After approximately 6 to 8 weeks, one aligner is replaced with the next. The patient wears the aligners for 22 hours a day, day and night; they may only be removed from the mouth for eating and drinking. Using the Invisalign method, we gradually move the teeth closer to their intended final position. Invisalign guarantees a free correction of the treatment result for up to 5 years after the end of treatment.
