Braces for adults
Adults, too, are increasingly expressing a desire to correct misaligned teeth with braces, thereby optimising both the functionality of the masticatory system and the aesthetics of their teeth – and this desire can, of course, be fulfilled even in adulthood!
For minor misalignments, your orthodontist will also use removable braces for adults. However, this method allows only limited tooth movement.
For more significant tooth movement, your orthodontist will recommend fixed braces, which allow the movement of the teeth to be optimally controlled. We have a range of highly discreet options available for this.
Is there an age limit for orthodontic treatment in adults?
When deciding whether orthodontic treatment is suitable for you, your age is irrelevant; the only requirement is that your teeth must be approximately half-embedded in the bone and the surrounding tissue must be free from inflammation. With modern and discreet orthodontic methods, even complex misalignments can be corrected in adults, and teeth can be moved right into old age.
