Local anaesthesia – reliable and with no side effects

Local anaesthesia – the numbing of teeth, gums, specific areas of the jaw, lips, tongue, cheeks or the floor of the mouth – enables pain-free treatment in many cases, even for children.

Local anaesthesia is one of the most common and important treatment methods at our paediatric dental practice in Munich. We have special local anaesthetics available for children, which are tailored to their needs. Your paediatric dentist uses fast-acting anaesthetics and administers the local anaesthetic as close as possible to the nerve trunk. Local anaesthesia blocks the transmission of sensory stimuli – such as pain, temperature, touch and pressure – for a certain period of time. To ensure that the injection does not hurt, the paediatric dentist rubs our ‘tooth jam’ (a fruit-flavoured gel with a local anaesthetic effect) onto the gums when administering local anaesthesia to children.

Local anaesthetics are very reliable at our paediatric dental practice in Munich and do not usually cause any side effects.
